Welcome to K-9 Specialized Training and Consulting (K9STAC)

K-9 Specialized Training and Consulting is a full service K-9 Training Facility where Law Enforcement Agencies go for highly trained Detection Dogs. K9STAC has trained several Police and Federal Detection Dog Teams, to include; Federal Protective Services, UC California Police, UC Berkeley PD, US Park Police and several other Police and Sheriffs Departments.

K-9 Specialized Training and Consulting was founded by Law Enforcement Sergeant David Dorn (active).

K9STAC recognized the need for modern, progressive and up to date techniques associated with initial canine selection, training, and initial Canine Handler selection, training, and practical application of canine team deployments and supervision. K9STAC has established several training courses for Law Enforcement Agencies based on those recognized needs.

K9STAC utilizes the world renowned “On Target” Detection Dog method. With this method and founder David Dorn’s 15 years of canine training and experience, canines are selected, pre-trained and reliability tested, easily adapting to a new handler. Dorn states, “As handlers and trainers with real world experience, actively out there searching with a Narcotic Detection Dog and an Explosive Detection Dog, I know how difficult it is to make the right call to get the right dog. Well it’s not just about the right dog it is about the right Hander, right program and the right Trainer. I will not certify a handler or a canine that I would not work  or work with.”
