Team Refresher / Problem Solving Course
Many minor issues develop between the handler and canine after their initial training. Training and de-training occur as soon as the Canine Team starts their on-duty service work. Fortunately, minor issues can be worked out quickly with consistency and repetition under direct supervision of a Detection Dog Trainer. It also helps the handler when they have the opportunity to watch other canine detection dog teams working in training. During this refresher course the canine will be training in odor recognition, alert indication building drills, and obedience to the odor. Handler review and demonstrate proper search techniques, review of scent odor and how scent works during searches of buildings, vehicles, open areas and baggage/parcels review the odor response and change in behavior in the canines during search, review and recognize the ability and responses of the canines working the odor to the actual source of the odor, and review and demonstrate the proper leash control and off leash control during searches, and the “obedience to odor” game for the dog and handler. Training conducted at our training facility or we’ll come to you. For additional information please use our “Contact Us” page.
